What is Confirmation
Confirmation is more than a milestone—it’s an invitation into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. This two-year journey is designed not just as a series of classes, but as a meaningful time of encounter: with Christ, with the Holy Spirit, and with the loving heart of the Father. Throughout the preparation process, teens, their parents, and sponsors are invited to discover the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith and how it speaks into their lives today. Through regular gatherings, prayer, and community, the program creates space for real conversations and personal growth in discipleship.
Confirmation celebrates what began at Baptism: the gift of the Holy Spirit poured into our hearts. It is not a conclusion but a launching point into a lifelong mission. This journey is about becoming fully alive in Christ, knowing we are loved, and stepping forward as witnesses in the world.
Diocesan Prayer Event (1)
Attending at least one prayer event within the Diocese of Orange helps confirmandi experience the broader Catholic community beyond their parish. Whether a cultural faith night, saint celebration, or Mass at Christ Cathedral, this event shows them the diversity and unity of the Church.
Parish Prayer Event (2)
By joining a prayerful event at St. Mary’s, confirmandi connect with their local parish family. This requirement fosters community and shows the importance of shared prayer and worship as they grow in their Catholic faith.
Parish Service Projects (3)
To cultivate a spirit of service, each teen participates in two service projects. Through acts like supporting parish activities with time or donations, confirmandi learn the value of loving and serving others, embodying Christ’s call to serve.
Life Nights (High School Youth Ministry Nights) (4)
Each confirmandi must attend four Life Nights. These gatherings provide prayer, catechesis, and community, helping teens build a sense of belonging within their faith. As studies show that belonging often leads to belief, Life Nights foster connection, faith, and a stronger relationship with Christ.
Preparation for Confirmation is more than just attending weekly classes—it’s about committing to the journey as a whole. As a parish, we’re investing in you and your family through a meaningful, Christ-centered program, and we ask for that same level of commitment in return. This shared dedication helps create the space for real growth, transformation, and encounter with God.
Please contact Abraham at [email protected] to schedule your appointment to register.
Classes are on Wednesday Nights at 7pm.
Confirmation sessions are held every Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. These weekly gatherings are a key part of the journey, offering teens a space to grow in faith, build community, and encounter Christ in a real and personal way.
Sunday Mass Attendance
Regularly attending Sunday Mass is central to Catholic life. Confirmandi are asked to attend Mass weekly, using the QR code to check in. Through this commitment, they participate in the Eucharist, deepening their faith and unity with the Church.
Weekend Confirmation Retreat
Each year of the Confirmation program includes a powerful weekend retreat that all teens are required to attend. These retreats are a highlight of the journey—an opportunity to step away from daily distractions, build deeper friendships, and encounter Jesus in a real and personal way. It’s often during these weekends that hearts are opened, faith comes alive, and lives are changed.
Year 1 Cost $350
Year 2 Cost $350
A $100 deposit is required when submitting the registration packet to secure your teen’s spot in the program.
