The Respect Life Ministry, under the guidance and support of our Pastor, works to promote and teach respect for the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death. We promote the gift of Life to counter the anniversary of Roe v. Wade (January 22) through speakers at Mass, Baby Shower, Dollars from Heaven fundraiser, etc. We encourage year-round support for the La Habra Life Center and Clinic through donations of gently used baby items and monetary donations. Since 2007, we have raised over $89,000 for Dollars from Heaven (known as Pennies from Heaven at the Diocese) thanks to the generosity of St. Mary’s parishioners. This is a diocesan activity and funds are distributed to all centers and clinics in the diocese. This event takes place in October as an activity of Respect Life Month.
We support the La Habra Life Center and Clinic with donations of clothing and supplies from parishioners throughout the year and with a Baby Shower for the Center in the Spring. Along with baby gifts, parishioners have also donated over $31,000 to the Center/Clinic.
